This day, together with Palm Sunday, hold a unique position in the church year, as days of joy and \ntriumph between the penitence of Great Lent and the mourning of Holy Week.During the preceding week, the hymns in the \nLenten Triodion track the sickness and then the death of Lazarus, and Christ's journey from beyond Jordan to Bethany. \nThe scripture readings and hymns for Lazarus Saturday focus on the resurrection of Lazarus as a foreshadowing of the \nResurrection of Christ, and a promise of the General Resurrection. The Gospel narrative is interpreted in the hymns as \nillustrating the two natures of Christ: his humanity in asking, \"Where have ye laid him?\" (John 11:34), and his divinity \nby commanding Lazarus to come forth from the dead (John 11:43). Many of the Resurectional hymns of the normal Sunday \nservice, which are omitted on Palm Sunday, are chanted on Lazarus Saturday. During the Divine Liturgy, the Baptismal \nHymn, \"As many as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ\" (Romans 6:3), is sung in place of the Trisagion. \nAlthough the forty days of Great Lent end on the day before Lazarus Saturday, the day is still observed as a fast; \nhowever, it is somewhat mitigated. In Russia, it is traditional to eat caviar on Lazarus Saturday.\n\nIn the Roman Catholic Church Saint Lazarus' memorial is on June 21. In Cuba a major festival is dedicated to San Lzaro.\n\nHe is commemorated in the Calendar of Saints of the Lutheran Church on July 29 together with Mary and Martha.\n\nIn Christian funerals the idea of the deceased being raised by the Lord as Lazarus was raised is often expressed in \nprayer.","brand":"alivia-danny","offers":[{"title":"Stainless Steel \/ 2\/3 x 2\/3 IN","offer_id":48868029497497,"sku":"102220-311813-PSS","price":49.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"Stainless Steel \/ 3\/4 x 3\/4 IN","offer_id":48868029464729,"sku":"102220-311814-PSS","price":79.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"Stainless Steel \/ 1 x 1 IN","offer_id":48868029431961,"sku":"102220-311815-PSS","price":109.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"Stainless Steel \/ 1 1\/4 x 1 1\/4 IN","offer_id":48868029399193,"sku":"102220-311828-PSS","price":134.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"Sterling Silver \/ 2\/3 x 2\/3 IN","offer_id":48868029628569,"sku":"102220-311813","price":79.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"Sterling Silver \/ 3\/4 x 3\/4 IN","offer_id":48868029595801,"sku":"102220-311814","price":109.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"Sterling Silver \/ 1 x 1 IN","offer_id":48868029563033,"sku":"102220-311815","price":139.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"Sterling Silver \/ 1 1\/4 x 1 1\/4 IN","offer_id":48868029530265,"sku":"102220-311828","price":159.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"Gold Plated \/ 2\/3 x 2\/3 IN","offer_id":48868029759641,"sku":"102220-311817","price":139.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"Gold Plated \/ 3\/4 x 3\/4 IN","offer_id":48868029661337,"sku":"102220-311820","price":159.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"Gold Plated \/ 1 x 1 IN","offer_id":48868029694105,"sku":"102220-311824","price":189.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"Gold Plated \/ 1 1\/4 x 1 1\/4 IN","offer_id":48868029726873,"sku":"102220-311829","price":259.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"10k White Gold \/ 2\/3 x 2\/3 IN","offer_id":48868029857945,"sku":"102220-311818","price":219.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"10k White Gold \/ 3\/4 x 3\/4 IN","offer_id":48868029890713,"sku":"102220-311823","price":269.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"10k White Gold \/ 1 x 1 IN","offer_id":48868029792409,"sku":"102220-311827","price":349.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"10k White Gold \/ 1 1\/4 x 1 1\/4 IN","offer_id":48868029825177,"sku":"102220-311831","price":504.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"14k Yellow Gold \/ 2\/3 x 2\/3 IN","offer_id":48868029989017,"sku":"102220-311816","price":449.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"14k Yellow Gold \/ 3\/4 x 3\/4 IN","offer_id":48868030021785,"sku":"102220-311821","price":549.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"14k Yellow Gold \/ 1 x 1 IN","offer_id":48868029923481,"sku":"102220-311825","price":649.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"14k Yellow Gold \/ 1 1\/4 x 1 1\/4 IN","offer_id":48868029956249,"sku":"102220-311830","price":649.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"14k White Gold \/ 2\/3 x 2\/3 IN","offer_id":48868030087321,"sku":"102220-311819","price":449.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"14k White Gold \/ 3\/4 x 3\/4 IN","offer_id":48868030120089,"sku":"102220-311822","price":549.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"14k White Gold \/ 1 x 1 IN","offer_id":48868030152857,"sku":"102220-311826","price":649.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"14k White Gold \/ 1 1\/4 x 1 1\/4 IN","offer_id":48868030054553,"sku":"102220-311832","price":649.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0728\/3510\/4921\/files\/gp_cbyds_102220_1604325730.jpg?v=1786553466","url":"https:\/\/aliviadanny.com\/products\/saint-lazarus-round-rope-border-religious-medal-p102220","provider":"Alivia \u0026 Danny","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
